Summary: Moon displays identical Sun texture when viewed at high altitudes during daytime
Description: While at high altitudes (Y=200+) or below the world floor, the Moon's texture incorrectly renders as the Sun's texture during the day. This results in two identical "Suns" being visible in the sky at opposite horizons (East and West).
Steps to Reproduce:
Launch Minecraft Vanilla (Version 26.1.2).
Set time to day (e.g.,
/time set 1000).Travel to a high altitude (around Y=226, as seen in attached screenshots) or fly below Bedrock in Creative mode.
Look towards the East and West horizons.
Observed Results: The Moon lacks its proper phase texture and transparency; it appears as a solid, bright square identical to the Sun texture.
Expected Results: The Moon should maintain its distinct moon-phase texture and be partially transparent or faint during the day.
