Sulfur Spike generation messes up the "3d striped" look of the sulfur caves

When sulfur spikes generate, they also replace some of the blocks below with sulfur. if they happen to generate on cinnabar, they will replace some of the blocks with sulfur, making it look noisy and splotchy, whereas before stripes of sulfur and cinnabar alternated.

To reproduce, find a sizeable sulfur cave and observe locations on the floor where cinnabar generates.

Observed result:

some of the cinnabar blocks get replaced by sulfur

Expected result:

sulfur spikes won’t generate on cinnabar and replace it sulfur
