End portal block displays appear to show side faces; actual end portal blocks do not

An end portal block display can be created using the command /summon minecraft:block_display ~ ~ ~ {block_state:{Name:"minecraft:end_portal"}}

Compare it to an end portal block itself: it does not render when viewed from the side. However, the block_display does render when viewed from the side. This means that the block display does not faithfully recreate the appearence of the block it represents, which should be fixed.
