It appears that, when you run a command such as "say @p is nice", an output will be provided that appears as: " and USERNAME is nice". I tested this further by creating a brand new world yet the same issue occurred.
This was discovered in single player, with LAN mode not enabled.

Confirmed, occurs within singleplayer and mutliplayer, and all player selectors (@a, @r, @p). Adding parameters makes no difference.
Also, same happens with @a and @r !!!
