Hardcore Mode
When a player dies in Hardcore mode, they are correctly placed into Spectator mode. However, if the player leaves the world and rejoins, they are able to continue playing normally instead of remaining dead.
This allows the player to recover all items that were lost on death, effectively bypassing the Hardcore death mechanic.
Additionally, after rejoining, it is possible to change the game mode through the world settings menu (for example, from Survival to Creative and back again). The world continues to be marked as Hardcore, achievements/advancements remain available, and there do not appear to be any penalties or restrictions. This makes it possible to continue playing a Hardcore world normally after death and even access Creative mode.
This issue occurs in any newly created Hardcore world that I have tested. It is not limited to a specific save.
The game is completely vanilla. No mods, plugins, datapacks, or resource packs are installed that could affect Hardcore mode or gameplay behavior.
Steps to Reproduce
Create a new Hardcore world.
Die and enter Spectator mode.
Leave the world.
Rejoin the world.
Observe that normal gameplay is restored instead of remaining dead.
Open the world settings menu and change the game mode (e.g., Survival ↔ Creative).
Observe that the world remains Hardcore and advancements/achievements are still available.
