Running the /time query day command returns a different (increasing value) every tick rather than the expected stable value for an in-game day. The command response appears to be the remainder of the division of gametime by 24000 rather than the whole number portion of this division.

minecraft:day is a timeline that increases by 1 every tick, and resets to 0 at the start of every in-game day. /time query minecraft:day returns the number of ticks that have passed since the last time the timeline reset to 0. You need to use /time query minecraft:day repetition to find how many times the timeline has reset (how many in-game days have passed).
