In rare cases, the game can get locked up when using the Vulkan rendering backend

In rare cases, the game can get locked up when using the Vulkan rendering backend. This can only be reproduced with exclusive fullscreen enabled.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Launch the game and load an existing world

  2. While loading the world, the game has to become unresponsive (It’s rare for this to happen on its own, but to more reliably reproduce this, you have to click a few times)

  3. The windows prompt that shows up when the game freezes needs to only show up for a split second

  4. The game continues to load, but the game is now either stuck on a white screen or is stuck on a frame before the windows prompt until you hit F11

This only happens upon starting up the game so if you can’t reproduce it the first time, you have to restart the game and try again

Environment

CPU: Intel Pentium Silver N5000 GPU: Intel UHD Graphics 605 OS: Windows 10

The windows prompt disappears too quickly to show up in both of the recordings but the mouse cursor disappears after a while, signifying that I have entered the world, but the screen simply does not respond

Recording it with a phone displays the issue a lot better. It’s very bright, nothing I can do about this unfortunately, but if you look at 00:23, you can see the windows prompt appear and quickly disappear

Update: This appears to be fixed as of 26.3 snapshot 4
