Drowners in Java Edition spawn with a Nautilus Shell less than half as often as in Bedrock Edition. The same applies to their chance of dropping a Trident.
Date:
Spawn with Nautilus Shell in Java Edition - 3%
Spawn with Nautilus Shell in Bedrock Edition - 8%
Trident drop chance in Java Edition - 8,25%
Trident drop chance in Bedrock Edition - 25%
Expectations: The chances will be equal in both versions of the game
For comparison, the chance for Drowneds to have a Trident for both version is 6,25% and to have a Fishing Rod for both versions is 3.75%.
Nautilus Shells also have a 100% drop chance in both versions, but due to their lower chance of appearing, they are more than twice as rare in Java.
Aside from the extreme difference in Trident availability in Java Edition compared to Bedrock Edition, an additional problem is that Java players currently find it more profitable to kill Nautilus than to seek out Drowneds with a Nautilus Shell in their hand.
Why is a parity issue before Buzzy Bees considered valid?
