I was low on hunger and health, so I placed a bed and set my spawn point. Then I threw an Ender Pearl into a wall to kill myself so I could respawn, recover my health, and get my loot back. However, when I looked where i died, all of my loot was gone. i dont have a clip!

maybe your items went inside a wall and when an entity is inside a wall like an item it attempts to go to the highest point of a block, check the surface if the 5m cooldown isnt over.
