Short description
Minecraft 1.21.5 launches correctly on my Intel HD Graphics 2500 system. Starting with 1.21.6, every tested version freezes on the Mojang loading screen and Java becomes unresponsive.
Steps to reproduce
Use a Windows 10 PC with Intel HD Graphics 2500.
Launch Minecraft 1.21.6 or newer.
Wait for the Mojang loading screen.
Expected result
Minecraft finishes loading and reaches the main menu.
Actual result
Minecraft freezes on the Mojang loading screen. Java becomes unresponsive and Windows reports "OpenJDK Platform binary is not responding."
Additional information
Tested with:
Official Launcher
Prism Launcher
FastClient
Vanilla
Fabric
NeoForge,etc
Minecraft 1.21.5 always launches correctly.
Replacing Intel's OpenGL implementation with Mesa3D 25.1.3 by placing opengl32.dll and libgallium_wgl.dll beside java.exe allows Minecraft to launch every time. Performance becomes very low because Mesa uses software rendering, but the startup freeze disappears completely.
This suggests the problem is related to Intel HD Graphics 2500 OpenGL driver initialization introduced in Minecraft 1.21.6 or later.
Additional information:
I have attached two different latest.log files:
One is from a failed launch using the Intel HD Graphics 2500 OpenGL driver.
The other is from a successful launch after replacing the OpenGL implementation with Mesa3D 25.1.3 by placing
opengl32.dllandlibgallium_wgl.dllbesidejava.exe.
The successful launch uses the same Minecraft version and Java installation. The only change is replacing the OpenGL implementation with Mesa, which strongly suggests the startup freeze is related to Intel HD Graphics 2500 OpenGL driver initialization.
Environment

Confirming bug as I have reproduced this issue with an HD 4000 (same generation iGP) on 26.2 and 26.3-snapshot-1.
