The Bug:
The faces of cushions are not culled when completely covered by blocks.
Steps to Reproduce:
Place down a cushion on a flat surface.
Switch into spectator mode and look at the cushion from underneath.
Observed Behavior:
The faces of cushions are not culled.
Expected Behavior:
The faces of cushions would be culled.

Cushions are entities, and this behavior is consistent with other entities that mimic blocks (ie, paintings and item frames) which do not cull hidden faces, so is probably intended

After consideration, the issue is being closed as Won't Fix.
Please note that this is not the same as Working as Intended, as this bug report correctly describes behavior in the game that might not be the intended or desirable behavior, but it will not be fixed right now. Sometimes, this is because the issue reported is minor and/or impossible to change without large architectural changes to the code base.
