When I put an item into a normal shulker box, and then interacted with an iron ingot on a spruce shelf while holding the shulker in my hand, and then took the shulker off of the shelf by interacting with the shulker on the shelf with iron in my hand, the shulker was empty. I tried this four times, and the shulker was empty three of the four times.
Environment
I was playing on donutsmp.net

This needs to be a vanilla issue for it to be reported on the tracker. Nonetheless, I attempted to recreate it in singleplayer, but I could not.
Thank you for your report!
