If you place a cushion on a pressure plate, and then sit on the cushion/stand on the pressure plate, then the cushion will break after a few seconds.

This report does not describe a bug.
Cushions break when unsupported.

I was able to recreate with all pressure plates if the cushion is placed on top of the pressure plate. If the pressure plate is placed after the cushion (e.g. placing via looking at the side of an adjecent block) they will not break after activation.
