Short description of the issue
Minecarts with Invulnerable:1b cannot be extinguished after catching fire. Their Fire value remains at 300s and does not naturally decrease. Neither water nor manually setting the Fire value to 0s removes the fire.
Steps to reproduce the issue
Summon an invulnerable minecart:
/summon minecraft:minecart ~ ~ ~ {Invulnerable:1b}Place lava next to the minecart so that the minecart catches fire.
Check the minecart's
Firevalue:/data get entity @n[type=minecraft:minecart] FireThe value will be
300s.Wait and observe that the
Firevalue does not naturally decrease.Place water next to the burning minecart and observe that the fire is not extinguished.
Set the
Firevalue to zero:/data modify entity @n[type=minecraft:minecart] Fire set value 0sObserve that the fire remains visually present on the minecart.
The issue can be reproduced with different types of minecarts when they are given Invulnerable:1b.
Expected result
The fire on an invulnerable minecart should be extinguished normally. Water should be able to extinguish the fire, the Fire value should decrease over time, and setting the Fire value to 0s should remove the fire.
Actual result
The Fire value remains at 300s and does not naturally decrease. Placing water next to the burning minecart does not extinguish the fire. Setting the Fire value to 0s also does not remove the fire visually, and the minecart continues to appear on fire.
Environment
Minecraft Java Edition 26.2 No additional environment-specific information is required to reproduce the issue.
