I found corrupted chunks in my world when playing on the latest snapshot (26.3 Snapshot 7) after updating from prior snapshots, and I was able to consistently reproduce the issue. There is a youtube video linked, alongside that same video file attached for further demonstration and explanation
Steps:
-Load a world in the current latest release (26.2), and let the surroundings generate
-Reload the world in 26.3 Snapshot 3, once again letting the surroundings generate
-(Optional, but encouraged for consistency) Reload the world in 26.3 Snapshot 6, once again letting the surroundings generate
-Reload the world in 26.3 Snapshot 7, once again letting the surroundings generate. Explore a fair bit around the area you loaded.
Expected Result:
-Normal World Generation
Actual Result:
Massive trenches along chunk borders filled with water starting at sea level going down until y-54. Lava then appears from y-54 to The Void, deleting the bedrock as well. Structures (strongholds, trial chambers, ocean monuments, etc) are unaffected, leaving them floating in the trenches. Chunks surrounding the existing terrain may also have the “Blending: Old” tag on them while some chunks surrounding the trenches, and the corrupted chunks themselves, not having this tag, suggesting it may be a Chunk Blending failing issue.
