According to the 26.3 Snapshot 4 changelog, the debug overlay now supports a separate GUI scale than the rest of the game (customizable via F3 + F6). However, the Debug Overlay scale cannot be set higher than the main game's GUI scale. Its maximum limit is currently bound to whatever size is set in Options > Video Settings > GUI Scale.
This completely defeats the intended purpose of the feature, especially for players who prefer to play with a small main GUI (e.g., scale 1 or 2) but need a larger, readable Debug Overlay (e.g., scale 3 or 4). Currently, the only way to get a large F3 screen is to also make the main game UI large, which shouldn't be necessary with a separated scale option.
Steps to Reproduce:
Go to Options > Video Settings and set the main GUI Scale to a low value (e.g., 2).
Enter a world and press F3 + F6 to open the Debug Options screen.
Attempt to change the Debug Overlay scale to a value higher than the main GUI scale (e.g., 3 or 4).
Open the F3 Debug screen to observe the size.
Observed Results:
The Debug Overlay scale is capped at the main GUI scale limit. For example, if the main GUI scale is 2, the Debug scale is effectively locked to a maximum of 2, even if the monitor's resolution allows for a higher scale.
Expected Results:
The Debug Overlay scale should be completely independent. It should allow scaling up to the maximum resolution supported by the monitor (e.g., 3, 4, or Auto), regardless of how small the main Video Settings GUI scale is set.
