Amethyst Cluster Texture Pixels Are Stretched

I'm currently using Minecraft 26.1.2 and, while working on a mod, I was trying to create an amethyst cluster-like block made out of quartz instead of amethyst.

While recreating the model in Blockbench, I noticed that the dimensions and proportions of the vanilla amethyst cluster are different from what I initially expected, so I stretched my model to match the proportions of the vanilla one.

However, while comparing the two models more closely, I noticed something unusual: the pixels on the vanilla amethyst cluster appear to be stretched along one axis.

Interestingly, when I created my own model with the same stretched dimensions, its texture pixels looked correct. The vanilla amethyst cluster, on the other hand, has visibly stretched pixels.

This is particularly noticeable when inspecting the model closely in Blockbench, and it seems to indicate that the texture is being rendered with different proportions than the actual texture resolution would suggest.

I originally thought I had made a mistake while recreating the model, but after matching the dimensions and comparing the textures, I realized that the stretching is already present in the vanilla amethyst cluster.

Like all cross-model blocks, the amethyst cluster model inherits from block/cross, which uses rescale to intentionally stretch the faces to fill the diagonals of the block space
