The key “Alternate Erase” is very explicitly given a key ID and translation string in 26.3 snapshot 9. However, actually pressing this button will cause it to be Not Bound in-game for some bizarre reason, rather than allowing you to use it. In practice, this makes the key unbindable without setting it manually in options.txt.
You can reproduce this on Linux using the attached script:
download and place in a folder of your choice
open a terminal window in this directory
run this command:
./simulate-keys 'sleep 2' 'press 222' 'sleep 0.1' 'release 222'before the “sleep 2” wears off, click one of the buttons in the Key Binds menu
Expected results: it would display “Alternate Erase”.
Actual results: for some strange, strange reason, it displays “Not Bound”.
