End portals are not considered an obstruction when respawning at world spawn, even though they are when respawning at a bed or respawn anchor (due to the fix for MC-183899). A player respawning an end portal will be immediately sent to the end. (By contrast, due to MC-309290, entities which enter the exit portal end end up inside a player-constructed end portal at world spawn will not be teleported.)
This could be considered a “soft-softlock” since, with the respawn_radius gamerule <2 and a standard 3x3 end portal at world spawn, players would be prevented from returning to the overworld if they cannot get to the exit portal in the end. There are numerous other such “soft-softlocks” in the game, such as building a bedrock box at world spawn or activating a repeating command block with /kill @a, but this one is perhaps a bit easier to achieve accidentally. As with all issues in this category, a player with access to commands would have no trouble freeing themselves.

Is the issue that if your spawnpoint is inside an end portal you sometimes will not be teleported back to the end when you respawn?
As long as the creation mode is used to build the terminal portal at the birth point of the world, this problem can be reproduced!
@clamlol No, when teleporting to the final portal, you will stand in the center of the portal and your legs will be trapped in the teleportation block.
Are you sure you’re not running into something similar to MC-299970, where you just need to release and re-press your movement inputs to start moving again? I could get out of the end portal without issue.
@clamlol I am a Chinese player. These are translation issues, due to national regulatory reasons, I am unable to use Google Translate, which has resulted in translation errors. Resulting in the original 'standing' being translated as' trapped ', and I am using Windows 11 25H2, not macOS.
@clamlol This may just be a visual issue, you can perfectly solve it by jumping out of the portal and returning.
The issue you originally reported is probably MC-309290. Rather than resolve this report as a duplicate, I have taken ownership of this report and rewritten it to track end portals not being considered an obstruction when respawning at world spawn.
