Performance regression with the OpenGL rendering backend on Intel iGPUs ("Naive" Terrain Rendering)

For clarification: The first two screenshots captures the maximum frame rate. In reality, I am dipping below 70 most of the time while with Snapshot 9, I am able to sustain at least 80 fps with no issues.

Performance regression with the OpenGL rendering backend on Intel iGPUs. I’m assuming the regression is caused by the game now using “naive” terrain rendering. The game also doesn’t feel as smooth when moving the camera around.

Environment

CPU: Intel Pentium Silver N5000 GPU: Intel UHD Graphics 605 OS: Windows 10
