Description
When I use a Chinese input method to move in the world (e.g., pressing W briefly to walk forward), then release W, open the inventory by pressing E, and try to type something into the search box, nothing happens – the search box does not accept any input.
However, if I then press Shift to switch the IME to English mode, the search box suddenly fills with a string of “w” characters (corresponding to the movement key I had pressed earlier, even though I had already released it). This suggests that the key press events were buffered and not processed until the IME mode changed.
Steps to Reproduce
et your system input method to a Chinese IME (e.g., Microsoft Pinyin, Sogou, etc.).
Launch the latest snapshot (26.3‑snapshot‑10) and enter a world.
Press and release the W key briefly to move forward (do not hold it while opening the inventory).
Press E to open the inventory screen.
Click on the search box in the inventory and try to type something (e.g., “dirt”) using the Chinese IME – the box remains empty and does not accept any text.
Press Shift to toggle the IME to English mode.
Actual Result
The search box stays empty during step 5. After step 6, the box instantly displays a series of “w” characters (multiple W’s) that were apparently stored from the earlier movement input, even though the W key was no longer pressed.
Expected Result
The search box should accept input normally regardless of IME mode, and no buffered movement keys should appear when switching languages.
Environment
