Under certain circumstances, attempting to dismount a boat instead causes the player to crouch while riding it

I was playing a brand new singleplayer survival world where I was unable to dismount my boat within a specific chunk. When I opened the world back up after closing out of it, the game loaded me a few chunks away from where I was when I had closed it during the bug. Due to the fact that it was related to a specific chunk and no longer replicable after relogging, as well as being loaded into a different chunk than I had saved in, it seems that it MAY possibly be a chunk border desync issue instead of an issue with the boat directly. Unfortunately, I could not determine the conditions needed that allow this to become easily replicable; only that once it is triggered it appears to affect certain chunks.

my sneak is set to hold, not toggle

render and simulation distance are max

world was created in the same session the bug was encountered

If you check your logs, were there any errors?

not a single one, just events tagged as “INFO” or “WARN”

Hm, very odd. Your video checks out so I will mark this as Plausible. I wonder if the cause is similar to that for MC-261073

idk, it was def coordinate specific, but once i relogged it stopped, will keep an eye out if it happens again tho

oh duh, sea level is y=63 so maybe they ARE related but have different triggers

good call
