The new 3 poplar leaves block all use block/cube_all as a parent instead of block/leaves, making resource pack that change the leaves.json file require to manually make these new leaves' models point to block/leaves.

I would like to disagree. This isn't a suggestion, but a report on an inconsistency between leaves models. There is an existing implementation and the new poplar leaves differ from it.
