[Observed Result]
Players are completely unable to sprint/dash in version 26.3. This issue occurs in both single-player and local multiplayer (LAN) environments.
[Expected Result]
Pressing the sprint key (Ctrl by default) or double-tapping the 'W' key should trigger sprinting.
[Steps to Reproduce]
Launch Minecraft Java Edition 26.3 (Vanilla).
Enter any world (Single-player or LAN Multiplayer).
Attempt to sprint using either the assigned sprint key or double-tapping 'W'.
[Troubleshooting Attempted]
Changed sprint key bindings to various other keys (e.g., Ctrl, R, F).
Toggled "Sprint" option between "Hold" and "Toggle".
Triggered in-game respawn via
/kill.Tested on previous versions on the same PC (sprinting worked normally on older versions).
Note:
.minecraftdirectory cleanup and resettingoptions.txthave NOT been performed yet.

It's been resolved.
After deleting options.txt and completely resetting the configuration file, the problem was completely resolved. Sprint now works properly even after changing the key bindings.
This was not a bug in the game itself, but was caused by a corrupted local configuration file. Please close this ticket.
Do you still have the copy of the options.txt file that causes this issue by any chance? If so, could you please attach it here in a comment?
