You can break Paintings and Item Frames with a sword, spear, and bow. However, Armor Stands are immune to all three. This is a problem for adventure map makers!
Environment
Place 3 Paintings and Item frames on a wall, and place an Armor Stand, give yourself a Sword, Bow, Arrows, and a Spear. Change to Adventure Mode and attack each entity with each weapon.
