The bug
A /data modify command that uses both merge and compute will always fail, since merge requires a compound but compute only ever produces a number. This is a counterpart issue to MC-264620, which is the same issue for merge string.
How to reproduce
/data modify storage test:test test merge compute default integer {type:"constant",value:1}
Expected result
Command should probably be a syntax error
Observed result
The command parses, but fails (“Expected an object: got 1”). It will fail no matter what you put after “compute”
