ASCII restrictions on identifiers

Currently, ID names (whether for blocks, mobs, textures or sounds) can only contain ASCII characters. This causes problems with resource packs and datapacks, as it prevents resources from being loaded. Furthermore, this issue extends into the modding community. This is particularly frustrating in the education sector and in international projects.
Although ID names are unique identifiers, why should they be restricted to ASCII characters alone (which is perfectly understandable in standard Minecraft, but creators should be given the opportunity to make greater use of them)?
In this regard, I refer to the naming conventions of the programming languages from which Minecraft itself is built. In Java, as well as in C/C++ and the JSON/XML file formats, non-ASCII identifiers are the language standard (as is the case in most other languages too). Consequently, this bug in Minecraft gives budding developers a false impression of what programming is like. As for the permitted character sets, profiles such as UAX#31 or those from other languages could be used. This error only occurs with ID names, but not with GUI names.
