What I expected:
When I looked at a newly created map, I expected to see the area I was standing in.
Instead I got the map that I had created in the last seed I explored.
Steps to recreate:
1. In creative I got a new map and paper, wrapped the map 4 times with paper to zoom way out. then flew over the entire area to render the map. This map/seed was originally generated with an earlier snapshot (not sure which one)
2. I created a new random seed in 13w38c. Again in creative, I repeated the steps above to create a map zoomed out 4 levels. When I looked at the map, it was the fully explored map from the previous seed. Flying around did not update the map.
3. I tried creating additional maps adter that. One rendered, one did not (completely blank), one seemed to lock up 1/2 way through rendering.

That's strongly related to MC-31785
This bug still occurs. in MC 1.7
Problem a map created in one world appears when you create a new world.
Here is a simple method to duplicate the bug in creative mode but it also has happened to me in survival mode.
Create a new random world in creative, give yourself a map and view it, then exit and save.
Create a second new world and repeat the process. I expect to see the second world but instead I get the already rendered map from the first world.
I'm having the same issue but in Survival. I created a new map in my single player survival world and it gave me a map of my creative world. I am also running on the latest snapshot 13w38c.
Edit: After further testing, it seems as if the map data is being saved across all the worlds. If you create 5 maps in World A and attempt to create new maps in World B, it will 'recreate' the 5 maps you've made until you hit the sixth map in World B. At that point, you will have the correct map but by the same token the next map you create in World A will be that of World B.
Edit 2: This only seems to occur in 13w38b and 13w38c.
