Placed tripwire is invisible. Breaking any block makes all pieces of tripwire visible for 1 - 2 seconds, then they turn invisible again. This applies to connected and non-connected tripwire.

Hum, I just logged in again and suddenly this bug only affects a certain area of the map. By default I have mipmapping turned off and anisotropic filtering set to 16, however changing mipmapping and filtering doesn't make any difference concerning the tripwire.

Your Java version is more than ancient! Please update your Java to the latest version: http://www.java.com/en/download/ .
When using a 32-bit browser on a 64-bit operating system the automatic version detection will only show the 32-bit version of Java, the 64-bit version needs to be downloaded manually: http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp .

That's very strange because I updated my Java just recently. Anyways, after spending half an hour with installing the latest Java and graphics driver, the problem with tripwire still remains.
