When trying to deflect a Ghast Fireball, is is almost impossible, differing from previous versions, in which is was very easy to do so.
What I expected, when trying to hit the fireball, was for it to fly back up at the angle I hit it.
Instead, almost always, the fireball will most likely a) Phase through the punch/hit or b) Explode on contact with the punch/hit.
Steps To Reproduce:
1. Get a Ghast to fire at the player.
2. Try and hit the fireball with a single punch/hit. You will find this is hard, and that the player must spam-click to even have a chance at hitting it, and, even still, it will probably explode anyway.
This is a serious issue, as being unable to deflect the fireballs can result in damage and burning of structures, as well as player death.

I can confirm this in 1.6.2. I think this issue is related to how arrows will land and then move because they realize they are supposed to be somewhere else. I think this because sometimes it looks like you have hit a fire charge, and then after flying in a deflected direction for a short amount of time, reverts back to its original trajectory (which is almost always just the nearby explosion).
Still happening in 1.7 pre-release, the SP/MP internal merge made impossible and glitchy things that were easy in SP before, and this is another example.
@unknown, this ticket is about PC (Computer) version. It can be MCPE-14213 in your case. If not - create a new ticket.
I can deflect the ghast ball more than 50% of the time with one hit in 1.10.2. Does that mean it's fixed or am I just very good at it? 😃
It's just that you need to be very close to the fireball in order to deflect it. If you know that, you can do it 90% of the time. It is still "hard" though 😛
Fixed as of 16w42a.
All ghastballs can be reflected with a single mouseclick (without spamming), as shown in this video:
I have experienced this problem as well. Seems to be harder to hit with arrows too. Thought it was just low fps.
