Modifier keys sent by Logitech Game Pads and Keyboard ignored

If using a Logitech Gaming Pad, in my case a G13 Keyboard (http://gaming.logitech.com/en-us/product/g13-advanced-gameboard) Minecraft does not recognize any modifier keys sent by the keyboard.

I DID NOT have this problem before updating to the Minecraft 1.2.5 launcher and have not had this problem using any software on my computer or playing any of the 50+ games that I have through steam.

Minecraft DOES recognize all non-modifier keys, however not being able to shift click things is very annoying.

I do not have a Windows environment installed at the moment, so I can only confirm the bug via Mac.

Minecraft DOES recognize modifier keys sent via Logitech mice, in my instance a Performance MX (http://www.logitech.com/en-us/product/performance-mouse-mx).

I have tried both the old and current versions of Logitech's gamepad software, and the issue persists in both.

I'm happy to provide any additional information needed, as I'd REALLY like to see this bug fixed.

Do you mean to say that with 1.2.4 and prior launchers you had no problems?

Apologies for ambiguity.

I went from using the Minecraft 1.0.0 launcher to using the 1.2.5 launcher.

Using the 1.0.0 launcher everything worked fine, using the 1.2.5 launcher the problem existed.

Is there a way to get the intermediate launchers to test?

Unfortunately the launcher isn't the issue. When updating from 1.0.0 to any newer version, the LWJGL library files the game used were also updated. According to the changelog for these, there seems to have been major changes for the Mac version, which is likely why these keyboard issues have begun. Unfortunately the issue cannot be resolved here, and I recommend you visit their page and create a report there instead.

I have had this problem myself. I can sort of circumvent it by setting 'shift' to my mouse, and remapping a few of my keys, but it is so annoying that my thumb has to do hard work on my G700 mouse, thereby causing strain in my already vulnerable hand.. I have already tried contacting Logitech about this issue, but no answer on any, and I mean Any of the possible support-sites/social media. It would be very nice to see the modifier keys have their own buttons that we can change ourselves.
And that is still a problem (1.8.4)

This problem is pretty simple to solve, though.. If there was a possibility to change the mapping of the inventory-management-key that would be perfect. Just a simple solution, right? I don't know if it's extremely hard to write that in the code, but I have seen a number of requests on this issue, and it's been almost two years.. People still want it :/

Thanks for the consideration anyway 🙂
