I have no issue connecting initially on start of game. But if I quit back to the main menu or server select screen I am unable to connect to the server. I have to completely close the game ad restart it to be able to reconnect to the server.

Is this still a concern in the latest Minecraft version 13w48b? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases.

Confirmed. At first, the player count is incorrect (still shows me as logged in in the count), but I am unable to connect. Refreshing after 10-15 seconds will reflect the correct player count, but still unable to connect. After rebooting MC, I can connect as normal.
