What happened is I was going to build a contraption so i shrunk the screen and hit ESC so it would pause the game. I was done and went back to minecraft and found a horrid texture bug of some sort but it only seams to effect place able items. Hope this helps I have some pics here........

changing my texture pack from default back to default seems to have changed the problem but, its something I think is worth looking into
