Horse/Donkey dissapearing in water

When you go into water, it forces you off the horse or donkey. If you were in a large body of water, it probably drowned.

You can ride horses, donkeys, and mules in shallow (2 deep) water. Anything deeper and the horse/donkey/mule kicks you off. It probably ran away, as horses are prone to wandering off when not fenced in.

Is this still a concern in the latest Minecraft version 13w48b? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases.
