World Blacking Out

The world blacks out on me whenever I select any kind of "Decorative" item (torches, glass panes, flowers, etc.) in my hands. Like, whenever I switch to torches in my hand, the entire world blacks out.

In the two pictures, it shows me in the exact same x y z coordinates One picture has me with a pickax out and the other with "torches." When I switched out to torches, boom, black out. Has anyone else experienced this bug and if you have and have fixed it, care to share with me? I would appreciate it
