[MC-38835] xray/ blackness glitch

I will go to my worlds, everything is fine, i'll scroll to a torch and BAM, it bugs to where, everything is black, or I can x-ray see mobs, lava, and chests. In the blackness, everything will just turn full black color. Single-player and multi-player bug. players and mobs are in color. water is grey

I am having same issue & cannot use 1.7.2. The error originally blacked out the world. I tried everything. Completely removed minecraft folder & launcher as well as java & still does it. It turned to xray instead of blackout when I only reinstalled 32 bit java. If I take torch out of hotbar it goes back to normal after awhile or if restart, but as suun as pick up torch does again
