No splash sound when items dropped in water

I think this is a feature request, not a bug.

At least arrows make a sound when shot in water...

The splash sound has been there since v1.1
Is it now considered a new feature?

All other water sounds are ok and this splash sound has been since v1.1

Well I can confirm this...

Hi, when using the drop command (assigned Drop key V) over water, on
items on the bar, it used to make a splashing sound. It disappeared in
some version 1.3.x
No big deal though, don't waste too much time on it.

Is this still a concern in the latest Minecraft version 14w04b? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases.
