[MC-40460] Cannot Create Stained Glass

As per the Minecraft ( I believe that's the site ) wiki, I placed my 8 places of glass around a piece of dye ( in which case was yellow dye ).

However, the finished product did not appear, in the allocated square/space.

Am I doing something wrong? Am I missing a step?

Be sure you are playing in the latest version.
You can't use glasspanes around dye, in order to make Stained Panes, you need to put 6 stained glass like the recipe regular panes in the crafting grid.

I'm updated to the latest version.

I'm using 8 glass blocks, around a dye, in order to make a stained glass block.

I haven't reached the stained glass panes yet

Update

I thought I was using the recent version, as I believe it updated automatically. Turns out that my profile says "1.6.1".

I messed around a bit, since I don't know how to use this patcher, but I got it to "1.7.2".

Let's see what happens.

After figuring out, how this patcher works, the recipe works now.

I have to say, this turned out to be quite the learning experience for me.
