Your system does not meet the minimum requirements to run TwitchTV:
Requirements for streaming: Windows: Vista/7/8 (32 or 64bit) and Mac: 10.8/10.9 (64bit only).
Windows XP is not supported by Twitch.tv and it is recommended you upgrade your operating system as Microsoft will be dropping support for XP on April 08, 2014.
Linux streaming is currently unsupported as the appropriate Java libraries have not been released by Twitch.tv at this time.

That does not help what so ever. I need a solution not a bunch of letters and numbers. I have windows 8. 32 bit. it needs AT LEAST 1.5. I have 2.1.0. 2 is bigger than 1. 😞

Reopened.

@All having this issue: Please force a crash by pressing F3 + C for 10 seconds while in-game and attach the crash report ([minecraft|http://hopper.minecraft.net/help/finding-minecraft-data-folder]/crash-reports/crash-<DATE>-client.txt) here.

I also have this issue, so here is my crash report.

@Andrejs, as I indicated, you will not be able to broadcast as you are using Windows XP, which is not supported for this feature.

I also have this problem.... Except I'm on windows 8.
Any idea how to fix this yet? 😞

There is currently no "fix", hence the report still being open.

OpenGL: Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family GL version 2.1.0 - Build 8.15.10.2302, Intel

Quite old graphics hardware and driver. Maybe the driver is lying about the OpenGL capabilities...

As OpenGL is a complete heap, it turns out that Framebuffer Objects (FBOs), which are what Twitch uses to stream, can be supported three different ways: Either using OpenGL 3.0 (which doesn't apply here as none of the users reporting the issue have an OpenGL version over 2.1), or via two possible different extension methods (ARB or EXT).

Minecraft was previously only checking for FBO support via the possible EXT extension, but as it turns out, there are drivers out there that will report supporting ARB but not necessarily EXT. It's anyone's guess as to why that is. At any rate, I've added additional reporting to this particular error message to indicate whether the driver reports supporting the ARB and EXT versions of FBOs, and re-written the message itself to be more accurate. If your cards don't support OpenGL 3.0 and don't support either the relevant ARB or EXT, though, then you're out of luck.
