Minecraft Crashes Everytime I click Multiplayer Menu

Minecraft Freezes with error message Not Responding When I click the multiplayer menu to log on to a server, after waiting for about 30 minutes it lets me see the menu however the servers do not ping and i can not log in.

What I expected to happen was i could see my servers and log in.

What actually happened was it would not respond and ping.

Describe what happened here- After i restarted my computer and deleted then re-downloaded minecraft and the same problem occured,

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Load Up Minecraft
2. Press Play
3. On start menu click multiplayer
