[MC-42961] bookshelves don't work

i had tried to enchant my iron pick to find more diamonds. So i eventually got the normal maximum amount of book shelves that can effect it around the enchanting table. I had 32 levels all together and after emence clicking on the thing the highest amount was 7. I had the normal two high bookshelves one space away from the table but no particals at all were happening.

Do you have carpet, torches, or anything else between the bookshelves and the enchanting table?

Please force a crash by pressing F3 + C for 10 seconds while in-game and attach the crash report ([minecraft/crash-reports/crash-<DATE>-client.txt|http://hopper.minecraft.net/help/finding-minecraft-data-folder]) here.

well at first i was on a mountain and it had snowed before i biult the room

Remove the snow, it blocks the books.
