[MC-4315] Windows 8 Help

Hi, I cannot change a zip file in windows 8 and was wondering if you could make the downloads as jars instead of zip files. If this is unresolved I understand that you are busy. Thank You.

The launcher is an exe file, the snapshots are jar files.
When are you dealing with a zip file?

Well when I downloaded it and changed the "save as", it only lets me change from compressed zip and all files.

Those are jar and exe files, there are no zip files

Weird, just rename it to minecraft.jar and it should work, if you know where to put it.

When I rename it becomes "minecraft.jar.zip". If the download would have the jar extension in the zip that should work for me and others with this problem.
