the void fog and dimming at bedrock needs to be fixed. currently torches lights and other night vision do not remove this effect which makes absolutely no sense. a torch will spread the same light on the surface as it will underground. this void fog bullshit has destroyed many a underground city as visibility have become impossible. please get rid of this absolutely showstopping issue and either remove the dimming and fog altogether or make torches remove the effect. i am sick and tired of needing a third party mod to fix this.

this is a bug because you are essentially afflicted with a blindness effect while a torch right next to you if this is intended than mojang has truly fallen. but i hardly say this is invalid at best it might duplicate another existing lighting bug lord knows how many of them there are.
a bug is any issue mechanic which is broken to the point of being detrimental to game play. a feature request is something new to add to the game this is a request to fix an existing issue please do you job as a moderator better and stop closing legitimate issues because of some cookie cutter script your following
This website is not here to debate about which current game mechanics are, as you say, detrimental to gameplay. Considering the void fog has been around since beta 1.8, and remains present for more than 2 years, once can say with most certainty that this is an intended game mechanic. As indicated in my response, feature suggestions or changes should be posted on Reddit, as you are requesting a change to a currently implemented game mechanic. I am not saying that there is no validity to your claim, but rather that this is not the most suitable place to voice it.
This site is for bug reports only. For feature suggestions or changes please do this on Minecraft Suggestions on Reddit.
Also note, the fog can be removed with an opening to the surface.
