Actually this is the fix for a bug i reported years ago. Trap Doors were never intended to obstruct a ladder and the old behavior was the result of a bug introduced by the fix that stopped gap ladders. Trap doors are now Finally Behaving properly why are you reporting the fix for a major annoyance as a bug ?

Also trap doors have a higher material cost than ladders so there is no point using them as ladders like you showed in your screenshot

It kinda shocks me that this was only now being fixed

I say remove the line of sight requirement all together

it would be much easier to let a beacon work anywhere with no restrictions.

as for the beam of light add in some code to change the length of the beam and allow the beam to always render and just stop when it hits a block rather than not render at all.

i am kinda frustrated and frankly sickened that this issue has survived so many updates without a resolution. and competent modder could probably fix this within a few days

is it possible they were reacting to a hostile mob that was out of sight and the timing was coincidence ???

i do not believe that this is a duplicate but rather another issue involving the player siting script. since when this occurs i am riding the horse through a river and the horse does not play the grazing animation as observed and the horse is constantly trying to swim up. the player is kicked off the horse as it bobs up and down when the player collision skeleton comes into contact with the water this unrelated to the horse's behavior it's AI and i will be re posting this as a new bug .

I have been having this same issue on SMP i had a tamed saddled and armored horse vanish from a pen last time i checked tame animals never despawn naturally.

additionally livestock keeps vanishing from my farms including bred offspring

even stranger this bug also effects villagers who are never supposed to despawn and cannot spawn naturally aside from during chunk generation. it has gotten so bad that the server admins got tired of re spawning these mobs and just configured the server to spawn in chests of animal and villager eggs in the town hall XD.

the lead should never break unless the player gets too far from the horse there really needs to be some conditionals in the grazing sequence to check for these simple things

horses shouldn't kick a rider off while swimming as most horses at least in the real world can swim quite well with or without a rider so this is kinda arbitrary and retarded to the nth degree

this is a bug because you are essentially afflicted with a blindness effect while a torch right next to you if this is intended than mojang has truly fallen. but i hardly say this is invalid at best it might duplicate another existing lighting bug lord knows how many of them there are.

a bug is any issue mechanic which is broken to the point of being detrimental to game play. a feature request is something new to add to the game this is a request to fix an existing issue please do you job as a moderator better and stop closing legitimate issues because of some cookie cutter script your following

this amazing concept has been around since the 1980's and allows you to toggle console output on and off essentially allowing users to suppress unwanted log files HAYO !!!

most users don't need this level of detail and only care about seeing error logs when the client wont run.

how about letting us simply disable logging it works. 🙂

I can confirm this bug with the latest update this issue is separate and related to the Aero Snap mechanic. it appears to be triggered by a random loss of window focus as well.

The only reason i can think of that people are still arguing about this issue and saying Works as Intended is because those are the lazy greifers who like to be able to ruin someones house with lava flows knowing it is difficult to clear. Ugg they make me sick.

actually on a side note this would reduce the headache of lava greifing making it a bit easier to clean up on SMP servers.

would be nice if someone other than the mod team weighed in on this like you know.... an actual mojang developer :/ that would settle the works as intended dispute once and for all

i can reproduce this bug on a flat bedrock sheet with no area hazards and no other mobs. perhaps the nether star needs explosion resistance to mitigate the fact that it drops near a wither

yes they listed it as fixed and there are no changes to any recipie

this needs to be fixed and due to the serious damage to existing in game traps this should be upgraded to major or showstopper

@Mead Regardless of whether or not this is in the change log it is still a bug because it breaks things just like ladder changes and other game play changes there can be unintended side effects and it us the duty of the development team to weight the benefits and disadvantages of these changes and when issues arise from the changes THEY ARE BUGS and it is not yours or the mod teams place to close a topic that indicates problems caused by a mechanic change. please stop disregarding valid issues and shunting them to the forums as feature requests because it makes both the mod team and development team LOOK BAD as it seems like a TLDR we dont care statement

actually this is a separate issue zombie pigs are meant to be high damage player killing mobs however they should not be able to stun lock a golem made of iron twice their size not to mention the golem takes no damage reduction and is killed easily which defeats the purpose of the creature as a guardian. additionally with a lack of a health gauge of some kind it is possible to know if my golems need a potion or not and many times they die of low health when they could have been healed.

these are incredible utility mobs and there needs to be a bit more attention paid to them so that they can actually do their intended job of fending off large groups of mobs.

and who and how are the moderation teams chosen and what do they use to base their decisions on. are they locking and rendering topics invalid for food logical reasons or are they being influenced by their personal opinions on topics. for example how many mechanics ""work as intended"" but at the same time are undesirable and detrimental to game play mechanics like these need to stop being blown off and ignored and the dev and mod team need to start listening to the myriad of non bug complaints that have been around since 1.5 and STILL haven't been redone or corrected to the satisfaction of the community.

This doesent change the fact that as more people try to build nether bases this function becomes increasingly undesirable and needs to be changed to make these bases viable

allowing a trapdoor to function as a ladder rung is an optimal solution
