Unable to play unkown soundEvent: minecraft:mob:witch.idle

I don't remember seeing anything wrong with this in game, but here it is in the logs.

This is not a duplicate of MC-427
This happens when a witch is present in the world. There is no sound for witches but the console will give an error and say Minecraft is trying to play a soundevent - Unable to play unknown soundEvent: minecraft:mob.witch.idle
.

Tested on 14w08a

This is not a duplicate, this is not about the missing witch sound but about the error message.

Reopening as the resolution of MC-427 conflicts with displayed error message. Either the sound is missing, the error should not be displayed, or this ticket is working as intended of it's own as it may be "future planning".

I will attempt to get confirmation.

does this mean that people can have witch sounds in resource packs?

is this still an issue in 14w29b?

qmagnet

Yes this is still an issue. But it's easy to reproduce so you can check yourself. Just run the game with the development console open, open a world and spawn some witches. See console.

user-f2760

also happens with minecraft:mob.witch.death and minecraft:mob.witch.hurt
