New skin system resets after switchin from overworld/nether/end

When switching through dimensions, it seems when you re-enter the overworld, the skin turns every customizable features off. To reset it, you always need to change something on, then off, then it will update again to the previous look.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Enter the nether
2. Re-enter the overworld
3.Look at your player!
