[MC-45369] Newly-picked-up items disappear on inventory

When you pick up an item in creative mode, and your hotbar is full, the item disappears from your inventory. However the items appear again once you open another countainer (ex. Chest)

To replicate glitch:
1 - In creative, with no free space in your hotbar, open any item tab and throw some items to the ground close to you.
2 - Pick those items up.(don't leave the tab screen)
3 - Now open your survival tab, the items you just picked up will refuse to display.

This glitch exists since 1.6, as far as I can tell.

Works as intended.
You can still access the items by opening the "Survival inventory" tab in your inventory.

Maybe I didn't specify. When you open your survival tab, the items don't show up on it. The items you just picked up, before you had opened it.

You can pick up items in creative mode, even when inventory is full, I believe since 1.5, or even earlier (not sure thought), but never heard of them reappearing. Cool thing also, in creative mode you can pick up arrows that usually never despawn in 1.7 (Because of a bug)
