[MC-45442] Sword defaults to hitting block over player entity.

When I'm playing with my brother on a vanilla server over our network, we attempted to hit each other with swords. I expected my sword to hit him and do damage, but instead it passed through him and I heard it hit the block instead. I've attached a couple of great artwork masterpieces trying to demonstrate what was happening.

Please force a crash by pressing F3 + C for 10 seconds while in-game and attach the crash report ([minecraft/crash-reports/crash-<DATE>-client.txt|http://hopper.minecraft.net/help/finding-minecraft-data-folder]) here.

Switch on PVP on your server.

Erm, PvP was switched on while we where playing. I had double checked before starting up the server. I'll try to get the crash report when my brother is available later.
