On several worlds when i find a village its houses are partially buried in the ground or in the case of one world a few blocks too high, requiring modification of the village just to find the villagers and its loot, it seems to happen more when the village is on a hill. These Screenshots are from 14w04a but i have seen it in previous versions - the second pic is after i had dug out the door already to that house

Please post the world seed and coordinates.
The seed of the picture is: 7082861985644829900
The cords of this particular village is x=720 z=-900
-note this world was originally genned in 14w02c but they should be the same, and i just checked-same village in latest snapshot still so i added that on also
Oddly enough, I can't create a world with that seed, I get a crash. I've reported that for my own bug, but unfortunately it means I cannot test this myself.
This was originally on a server and when I pulled it from there I didn't try single player...I would have put the IP but I don't want it overrun with random people
I just tried...it sits at the building screen but if I close it and then open the world its fine... other seeds work fine though
Yeesh, that has to be the tiniest little town I've seen naturally generated. I can confirm with that seed/coord pair on a fresh 14w04b world.
Further looking around suggests this is a duplicate of MC-1948, which is a broader issue on odd village generation.
That seems to match...if a mod will link them as a duplication that would be good.
