I've noticed when I travel mobs are still there even though the day is almost over. They don't start to burn until I get within a certain distance. Around my house they act normal, it's only when I travel to other areas that I notice this issue. I'm sorry if this has already been posted, I tried to check.

They spawn when I'm not around. They don't burn during the day unless I'm near them. I've seen mobs when it's sunset that haven't burned. I'm not sure how to describe this. I know it's different than how it was.
How do you know that they spawn while you're not around? Are the mobs that haven't been burned wearing armor or swimming in water? It's also possible that they were burning but the effect wasn't shown because you were too far away. Particle effects are reduced or completely invisible when you distance yourself from the source.
I was in a survival world. I went traveling to find a desert. Several chunks away, when the sun was shining, mobs of every type were standing around. They didn't start to burn until I got really close, and some didn't burn at all. None had helmets or armor and they weren't in water.
OK so I may have observed something like this, will have to test it but... did they not burn until they moved?
The whole world stops being updated when you're far away and not just mobs. Only a few chunks around you stay active. This is normal behavior and expected. Otherwise your computer wouldn't be able to run the game.
